Refreshingly the government is actively seeking public input through the Ontario Regulatory Registry.
In most provinces, veterinarians have voluntarily chosen not to perform certain procedures on animals — a decision made by the profession itself, rather than through government mandates. We must ensure the government stays out of these decisions and does not impose top-down restrictions. This is fundamentally about freedom of choice for pet owners, veterinarians, and animal caregivers.
If we remain silent, the battle for professional autonomy and personal freedom is lost. Now is the time for all of us to raise our voices and make our position heard.
The consultation period is CLOSES February 5, 2026.

The Club works in co-operation with the Doberman Pinscher Club of Canada and the Canadian Kennel Club in the development of purebred Doberman Pinschers. The area of operation of the Club is the Greater Toronto regional area including the regions of Durham, Halton, Peel and York, as well as the cities of Hamilton and Woodstock. |
